I never thought that blogging could be used in the classroom. I was proven wrong as I stumbled upon a few blogs today for this assignment. One blog that really caught my attention was the Collaborative Class Blog.
This was one of the ones listed on the assignment description, but I really enjoyed reading it. I liked how the teacher posted their experiments and opened it up for discussion for the students and parents. This is a good way to connect parents to what students are doing at school. The other blog that I enjoyed was Becoming a better EFL Teacher. This blog really helps me with my minor, ESL, and some techniques and suggestions to better my teaching. The last blog is Room 9 Nelson Central's Blog. This is a good example of a blog used to present student's projects. I think this is a good idea because parents can view their students projects and other students can see what their classmates are working on in class. This is an easy way to share each others work.
Along with these two blogs, I subscribed to two other blogs:
and
These blogs are more fun blogs that include my interest, reading.
Through this assignment I have learned how useful blogs can be in the education setting. They support and encourage collaboration in the classroom. They also help connect parents to what their students are doing in the classroom. This is a great idea and I would like to expand my knowledge and use this in my future classroom.
